Mimetite – Touissit, Morocco

A fine and highly representative specimen of mimetite from the classic Touissit mining district, Morocco, displaying numerous well-formed hexagonal crystals with a warm honey-yellow to golden coloration.

The crystals show good luster and attractive translucency, with several sharp terminations and a pleasing contrast against the darker matrix. The dense coverage and variety of crystal sizes give the specimen strong visual depth and make it particularly appealing from different viewing angles.

Touissit is internationally renowned for its lead mineralization and has produced some of Morocco’s most collectible specimens of mimetite, cerussite and associated secondary lead minerals.
