The Emperor's Gate in Antwerp. Marked top left: page 7. Plate no. 4 in a set of 43 plates issued for the publication of the description of the entry of Cardinal Infante Ferdinand of Austria into Antwerp on 17 April 1635 as the new governor-general for the Spanish Netherlands. After a drawing by P. P. Rubens, by Theodoor van Thulden, ca. 1641. Originally used as an illustration in: C. Gevartius, Pompa introitus ... , 'Ferdinandi Austriaci Hispaniarum Infantis ... a S.P.Q. Antverp, decreta et adornata, cum ... ad Norlingam parta victoria Antverpiam ... adventu suo bearet ... 1635 : arcus, pegmata iconesque a Pet.
