Description from the seller

Service à café/thé et dessert moderniste 41 pcs — L.S. Bavaria Schwarzenhammer — c. 1960

Description :
Complete 41-piece service for 12 people in German fine porcelain, produced by the historic Schwarzenhammer manufacture (founded originally in 1905 by Schumann & Schreider in Bavaria, Germany).
Each piece bears underneath its base the official factory stamp consisting of the calligraphic monogram “LS” (Langenthal / Schachtel) surrounded by a laurel crown and topped with a royal crown, attesting to its authenticity.
This model fits perfectly within the Mid-Century Modern / Bauhaus period.
It is distinguished by its highly graphic modernist design: an asymmetrical sequence of gold lines in filaments forming a geometric grid, crossed with bouquets of spring roses in bud.
Finishes with fine gold on all scalloped borders, handles, and pouring spouts.
The pieces also bear their respective factory and mould numbers stamped into the body (42, 89, 90, 91).

Dimensions of the 41 pieces :
12 Cups: Diameter 8.5 cm | Height 4 cm
12 Saucers: Diameter 13 cm | Height 1.8 cm
12 Dessert plates: Diameter 17.5 cm | Height 1.8 cm
1 Large cake serving platter: Length handle-to-handle 27 cm | Diameter 26 cm | Height 2.5 cm
