Beautiful set of 6 pieces attributed to Baccarat Model ‘Jeux d’Orgues’ wine/port glasses.
This classic antique design (in Dutch also translated as the organ-pipe motif) dates from the late 19th century / early 20th century. It is recognizable by the distinctive deep vertical parallel engravings (côtes creuses) that evoke the pipes of a church organ.
Because this model already appears in early catalogs (such as the 1916 dinnerware catalog), the glasses from this specific period are unmarked. Baccarat did not begin engraving or sandblasting their well-known round logo on the bottom of the glassware until 1936.
