We work directly with mining operations in Brazil and Uruguay. Geodes of this type are fitted with a concrete backing during preparation — standard practice in the mineral trade. The material comes out of the ground fragile, and the backing stabilises the geode so it can be cut, shipped and displayed upright. Minor chips, fissures and professional repairs are inherent to the material, as it is a natural stone.
