For sale is a rare Sony Video Walkman Compo system from the early 1990s, consisting of the Sony GV-U5E Video8 Hi-Fi Stereo Video Cassette Recorder and the accompanying Sony TGV-1B PAL/SECAM Tuner/Timer Unit.
The modular Video-Walkman system comes from a time when Sony combined high-quality mobile Video8 technology with a separate TV tuner/timer. The GV-U5E could be used as a compact Video8 recorder or playback device and offers, among other features, Hi-Fi stereo and various audio/video connectors. In combination with the TGV-1B unit, it formed a remarkably compact video/TV system for its era.
Particularly interesting is the comprehensive scope of delivery with the large wired Sony RM-95 Remote Commander remote control, an additional Sony Card Remote, numerous connection cables, and the original user manuals.
