This handwoven Kelim combines a modern, graphic design with an unusually harmonious color composition. The base is kept in a cool gray with a slight bluish undertone. In the center lies a large, elongated area in light sage to gray-green, framed by jagged brown outlines and block-like forms.
Particularly characteristic are the side-by-side, recurring line motifs. Here, brown and taupe meet cream, orange, and coral, complemented by a few very dark, nearly black accents. The motifs resemble abstracted beams and fringe shapes, giving the rug a clear, rhythmic structure.
Through the combination of subdued gray, soft green, and warm orange- and brown tones, the Kelim appears both modern and homely. The slightly irregular weave emphasizes the handmade character and prevents the geometric design from feeling too strict.
