AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Large Art Nouveau Vase (ca. 38 cm) – handwork, double-sided decoration, numbered 4651
Description:
A museum-quality, ornate vase from the heyday of European Art Nouveau around 1900 is for sale.
The imposing vase impresses with its flowing, organic shape and the artful floral decoration on both sides with elegant iris and tulip motifs. The fine relief contours were applied by hand in the elaborate thread decoration technique (slicker painting / tube lining). A harmonious colour gradient from warm, sunny yellow at the neck to a deep, earthy brown in the body gives the object an extraordinary depth and plasticity.
Due to the decorations on both sides, the vase can be presented freely in the room, on a pillar or in front of a mirror.
Ground details & markings:
Model number: Clearly deeply impressed form number 4651 (blind stamp in the bottom).
Serial number / size: Engraved number 21 to identify the decoration series.
Signature: Handwritten, black brush signature of the artist/decorator on the glaze.
The design and numbering point to a well-known continental European manufactory of the period (such as e.g. B. French-Belgian majolica workshops in the style of Gustave de Bruyn / Fives-Lille or Onnaing).
Technical data:
Period: Art Nouveau (ca. 1900)
Height: approx. 38 cm (rare interior large format)
Condition: Very good, age-appropriate condition. The glaze has a beautiful shine, no gross damages, cracks or restorations (fine age-typical craquelé formation under the glaze, see detail photos).
