Damoy Omnium stereoscope, circa 1904–1910, a folding French optical instrument with square oculars and a black wooden handle, complete with its original period case, in very good overall condition and fully tested and functioning.
Description from the seller
Damoy stereoscope – Omnium, ca. 1910
Antique French Damoy “Omnium” foldable stereoscope, dating from the early 20th century, circa 1904–1910.
Rare and fascinating optical collectible instrument, characterized by its distinctive metal folding frame, the two square oculars, and the elegant black wooden handle.
The specimen comes with its original period case, a particularly interesting element for the piece’s collectability.
The stereoscope presents in excellent general condition for its age and has been checked: all mechanisms are perfectly functioning, including opening, adjustment, and the movement of optical parts.
The lenses are present and the instrument retains its characteristic original mechanism in full.
Case
The original case is present and complete, but shows evident signs of time and use, with abrasions, loss of surface finish, wear at the corners and inside. These marks are consistent with the object's age and do not impair the functioning of the stereoscope.
The original markings are also visible on the case, now quite faded, documenting its origin and marketing.
