Description from the seller

Pair of Vintage Art Deco Porcelain Half Doll Boudoir Brushes – c.1920s–1930s – 20 cm

A particularly charming matching pair of vintage porcelain half-doll boudoir or clothes brushes, dating approximately to the 1920s–1930s.

Each elegant lady has a wonderfully stylised period appearance, with blonde hair, large applied pink roses, elongated neck, pale blue bodice and delicately hand-painted facial features. Their arms are modelled away from the body, with one hand raised elegantly across the chest.

Both dolls retain their decorative brush skirts and original-style ribbon wrapping. One has a vivid pink brush while the other has an attractive faded peach/orange brush, making them especially appealing displayed together.

Measurements:
Porcelain doll section approximately 9 cm high.
Overall height including brush approximately 20 cm each.

Condition: Good vintage condition for their age with age-related wear. The peach/orange example has noticeable fading, fraying and deterioration to its ribbon, while the pink example retains stronger colour. The brush fibres show age-related wear and some loose/stray strands. The porcelain figures display minor surface wear consistent with age. Please study all photographs carefully as they form part of the condition description.

No maker’s mark has currently been identified.

A lovely surviving matching pair and an unusual addition to a collection of antique and vintage half dolls, boudoir accessories, vanity items or Art Deco decorative pieces.

Sold together as a pair.
