Service for serving in antique ceramic – Villeroy & Boch (Dresden)
Splendid and rare lot consisting of 7 pieces signed Villeroy & Boch, Dresden factory, an excellent workshop of the storied European ceramic tradition.
Production period: Late 19th / early 20th century (between 1874 and 1909), characterized by the classic mark with coat of arms and Mercury’s head impressed on the bottom.
Origin: Germany (Dresden, Saxony).
The set comprises 7 coordinated pieces with cobalt blue decoration on a white background and refined ribbed detailing (relief), thus composed:
1) Footed stand (raised serving plate), diameter 26.5 cm, height 13 cm.
2) No. 6 soup plates with diameter 24 cm.
Generally in excellent condition with normal, slight signs of wear and age. All pieces are intact and free of chips or cracks. Any small ceramic imperfections are typical of artisanal workmanship.
They exhibit the natural and authentic crayélage (craquelure) of the glaze, a time-worn patina essential for porcelain of the era that guarantees absolute originality and historical authenticity.
