I am offering a set of six original Plia folding chairs by the Italian designer Giancarlo Piretti, manufactured by Anonima Castelli, Italy.

The Plia was designed by Giancarlo Piretti in 1967 and is regarded as one of the best-known Italian folding-chair classics of the 20th century. The distinctive combination of transparent plastic, chrome-plated metal frame, and the refined folding mechanism make it a timeless design classic.

The chairs offered here feature the original embossing “PLIA CASTELLI ITALY” on the metal profile.

The seven chairs are in an authentic vintage condition with age- and use-related signs of wear. The transparent plastic surfaces show scratches and fine signs of use, as would be expected for original Plia chairs that have been used for decades.

One of the seven chairs has a visible crack in the seat. I am including it as a spare-parts donor. The affected chair is documented in the detailed photos.

Several chairs are missing some of their original black floor glides. All folding mechanisms are fully functional.

Overall, this is a beautiful set of six original vintage Plia chairs, plus one spare parts donor chair.
