Ancient Yomud Turkmen saddle rug – 70 x 130 cm - Charming ancient Turkmen Yomud saddle rug, woven in wool on a deep red ground, featuring a traditional composition adorned with stylized gul motifs and geometric patterns typical of the textile art of the nomadic peoples of Central Asia. The main border harmoniously frames the central field decorated with repetitive medallions in red, ivory, brown and navy blue tones. The ends are enhanced with small protective motifs typical of Turkmen productions intended for horse equipment and the daily use of nomadic tribes. This piece bears authentic artisanal craftsmanship, with a beautiful patina and wear consistent with its age that give it a lot of character. Its elongated format also allows decorative use as a hallway rug, in front of a chest, or as a wall hanging.
