Opaline de Bercy - Pot (2) - Crystal

A beautiful collection of two antique French white opaline crystal pieces dating from the 19th century, including an elegant footed compote attributed to the Cristallerie de Bercy.
The finely moulded Bercy opaline compote features a wide flared bowl decorated with deep radiating ribs and a gently scalloped border. It rests on an architectural baluster stem with a lobed central knop and a broad ribbed circular foot. Delicate hand-applied gilt lines accentuate the rim, stem and base, enhancing its refined classical silhouette.
The second piece is a charming white opaline crystal cachepot or decorative bowl. Its softly rounded body is set on a low circular foot and decorated with wide hand-painted gold bands around the rim, body and base. Its restrained design beautifully highlights the luminous, milky quality of the opaline.
The Cristallerie de Bercy operated in Paris during the 19th century and was renowned for its sophisticated opaline crystal objects.
Perfect antique condition with normal traces of time. The opaline remains luminous and presents beautifully. Age-related wear, rubbing and fine scratches are visible on the gilded decoration, particularly along the edges and base. Small bubbles, slight irregularities and moulding lines are characteristic of early glass production. Photos are part of the description.
