Ancient Egyptian Faience Grape Amulet – 18th Dynasty – Amarna Period – Ex Collection Sheikh Saud Al-Thani
Offered here is an exceptional Ancient Egyptian amulet made of blue-glazed faience, modelled in the form of a bunch of grapes.
According to the accompanying Certificate of Authenticity issued by Helios Gallery Antiquities, the amulet dates to the New Kingdom, 18th Dynasty, Amarna Period, mid-14th century BC.
Of particular importance is its documented provenance. According to the certificate, the piece comes from the former collection of Sheikh Saud Bin Mohammed al-Thani (1966–2014), Prince of Qatar and former Minister of Culture. This distinguished provenance adds considerable collector interest to this small archaeological object.
The amulet displays an attractive blue to turquoise faience glaze. The surface shows age-related wear, deposits and partial losses to the glaze, consistent with an archaeological object of this age. Its condition is clearly documented in the detailed photographs.
