An elegant small crystal vase by Val Saint Lambert, Belgium, dating from the 1940s, a fascinating period when the refined geometry of Art Deco was evolving toward the cleaner forms of post-war modernism.

The vase is crafted in two-colour overlay crystal, combining a rich deep emerald-green layer with brilliant clear crystal revealed through extensive hand-cut decoration. The contrast between the dark green upper section and the transparent lower part gives the piece remarkable depth and changes its appearance dramatically according to the light.

Its compact, balanced silhouette is enhanced by a flared rim and a series of precisely cut geometric motifs. Deep elongated facets form a rhythmic pointed border around the body, while horizontal bands of cutting around the lower section create a particularly attractive architectural effect. A further row of polished oval cuts around the neck adds a softer counterpoint to the strong geometry below.

At approximately 14.5 cm high, the vase is relatively small, making it particularly suitable for a small bouquet or as a decorative crystal object in its own right.
