Large Spanish or Portuguese Baroque cabinet with diamond-point motifs – 17th–18th century

​Description :
​Imposing two-door Baroque cabinet, dating from the 17th or 18th century, originating from the Iberian Peninsula (Spain or Portugal). This high-quality piece is made of dark-stained solid wood (probably oak or walnut) and stands out for its rich decoration and its bronze fittings, chiseled in origin.
​Upper Part :
​Opens with two large doors adorned with 12 convex geometric panels, known as the “diamond-point” motif, carved with great precision.
​The doors are articulated by gilded bronze fittings, chiselled in the flamboyant Gothic or Renaissance style, very worked.
​The interior is simple, offering a large storage space.
​Lower Part :
​At belt height, the piece features two large central drawers framed on each side by a smaller drawer, all equipped with facades matching the doors and wooden handles.
​The bottom section opens with two solid doors, also decorated with diamond-point motifs (6 panels each) and chiselled fittings.
​The cabinet rests on a sturdy plinth with a cut and moulded lower crosspiece.
​Condition:
​The piece is in a good overall state for its age, with a superb original patina.
​It shows normal signs of use (small scratches, minor edge wear) that attest to its authenticity and do not affect its structure or aesthetics.
​The fittings and locks are original.
