Description from the seller
Chandelier Space Age 70s – Gaetano Sciolari – 3 Lights Smoky Oval Glass
Splendid and rare vintage chandelier original from the 1970s attributed to Gaetano Sciolari.
The chandelier stands out for its very high build quality and the refined color combination: the frame consists of three vertical cylindrical rods in glossy chromed metal, joined in the center by a distinctive two-tone geometrically shaped plate.
The cylinders terminate at the top with smoothly integrated bombé metal caps, a detail typical of Sciolari craftsmanship.
The diffusers (glasses): three exclusive globes of fine smoked Murano glass.
Unlike classic commercial spheres, these glasses feature a sophisticated vertical ogival shape (tapering upward).
They are decorated with a central raised band with a refined hexagonal lattice texture that is acid-etched/satin, creating a magnificent scenic effect when the chandelier is lit.
Mounting mechanism: Original period system with an internal three-blade expansion mechanism, which locks the glass from the inside, keeping the external line clean and free of visible screws.
Excellent vintage condition.
The chrome is glossy, the structure is solid and all three glasses are perfectly intact (no runs or chipping).
The electrical system is original to the era and functioning.
Holds three bulbs with small standard E14 bases (recommended warm LED filament bulbs to enhance the smoked glass).
Indicative measurements: total diameter about 45 cm, lamp body height about 60 cm (excluding chain/adjustable rod).
