Japanese - Kutani - Mount Fuji - Vintage Hand painted 24 k Tea set.

A stunning Japanese vintage set, richly hand painted with the finest 24k gold, featuring a lovely view of Oshinohakkai, nestled at the bottom of Mount Fuji.
The decor represents a traditional hand-painted decoration, enhanced with fine gold gilding and delicate pink touches evoking cherry blossom petals (sakura).
The landscape depicts a pagoda surrounded by fir trees, a wooden bridge and misty mountains in the background.
This set includes 1 creamer (milk pot), 1 lidded sugar bawl, 4 dessert plates, 2 cups and 2 saucers.
The delicate cups, as you can see at the photo, are absolutely translucent when held up to the light, you can make out virtually every detail from the inside. This type of extremely fine Japanese translucent porcelain called “eggshell porcelain”.
This style of traditional painting of Kutani province, 40s-50s, Japan.
Marked on the back with red stamp representing the stylised Mount Fuji surmounting the Japanese characters “日本" (Nihon, meaning Japan).
This stamp with Mount Fuji is usually found on hand-painted eggshell porcelain pieces, representing traditional motifs of geishas, relief dragons (Moriage) or golden and colourful landscapes.
This period of manufacturing very often associated with Showa-era (especially from 1940s to the 1960s).
