This complete set consists of a refined playing/tea table (also wonderful to use as a compact desk) and four matching, hand-carved chairs. Features of the table: Style: Louis XV style with elegantly curved cabriole legs. Finish: Surrounded by beautiful burl walnut veneer with refined marquetry in floral motifs, especially around the front drawer. Tabletop: Inlaid with a dark green (faux) leather top adorned with a classic gold-tooled border along the edges. Details: The drawer is equipped with intricate, patinated brass hardware (handle).

Features of the four chairs: Backrest: Featuring beautiful and still intact woven cane (webbing / cane). The top of the backrest is decorated with hand-carved floral details. Legs: Elegant curved slender legs that harmonize perfectly with the playing table.

Condition and restoration potential: The table and the woodwork of the chairs are structurally in good, solid condition with normal, characteristic signs of age. The leather inlay top of the table shows light, superficial wear and discoloration appropriate to its age. Note: The crackled (craquelé) leather of the seat coverings is heavily worn and at least one seat shows a tear (see detail photos). The set is structurally perfect, but the seats will need reupholstering in due course. This offers a unique opportunity to personalize the set entirely with fabric of your choice (for example chic velvet or new leather).
