Splendid and rare small collectible doll (mignonnette) from the famous Jules Verlingue factory, the 'L’Ancre' period in Boulogne-sur-Mer.
Features and Markings:
Manufacturer: Jules Verlingue (France).
Period: Circa 1915-1920 (World War I).
Size: 14 cm.
Head: Made of fine porcelain, delicate complexion, gentle expression.
Markings on the back of the head: * Inscription 'Petite Française' at the top of the skull.
Anchor Marine logo (symbol of the Boulogne factory).
Mold number 8/0 at the base of the neck.
Condition:
Head: Impeccable condition ("Nickel"). No cracks, no restorations, no chipping (light test performed).
Body: Original articulated body in composition/wood. Used condition (patina of age in keeping with its years, see photos). Restoration on one arm.
Outfit:
Original full communion attire. Dress in fine lace and a tulle veil. Magnificent condition for a century-old textile. Original painted shoes.
