Amber specimen from Indonesia, dating to the Cenozoic, natural in condition with a polished treatment, authentic, weighing 336 g and measuring 10 × 9 cm.
Description from the seller
100% real amber. All pieces are personally tested by me for authenticity with a UV lamp.
I give here a personal guarantee. See the last photo as an example of the UV lamp test. Real amber glows blue under UV illumination.
Golden and Blue amber (or amber) is the least common and most rare variant of amber in the world, which under the influence of UV light (such as sunlight) transforms from golden brown to an intensely fluorescent blue color.
Natural phenomenon: Under artificial light or against a light background the stone appears yellow, honey-colored or deep dark red. However, when exposed to UV radiation, the molecules (polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons such as perylene) light up and a spectacular blue glow appears.
Origin: This type of fossil resin is millions of years old and is primarily derived from the extinct prehistoric tree species Hymenaea protera. Blue amber originates from the Miocene and Oligocene, geological epochs dating from 15 to 40 million years ago
