Pair of Antique Carved Wooden Chairs – Louis XV / Rococo Style

Elegant pair of antique chairs made of solid carved wood, featuring a refined shaped frame, elaborate decorative carving and elegant curved legs.

The backs feature a large, harmonious open design with a finely carved upper crest decorated with floral and foliate motifs, together with a central ornamental element. The shaped backrest and lower rail create an elegant silhouette, while the front legs have a characteristic curved and graceful form.

The overall design recalls the Louis XV / Rococo style, with decorative characteristics typical of European furniture produced in the 19th and early 20th centuries.

Condition

The chairs have a beautiful aged patina and show normal signs of age and use, consistent with their period.

The cream-coloured fabric needs to be washed/cleaned, with stains, marks and signs of ageing visible in the photographs.

As clearly shown in the last photograph, one of the chairs also has a small crack in the wooden frame, located on the side near the seat structure. The crack is clearly documented in the photographs.

There are also minor imperfections, surface marks and variations in the original wood patina, all consistent with the age of the chairs.
