Grand display cabinet / two-piece sideboard in Louis XV Regency style in carved oak – 20th century

Description:
Impressive and elegant two-section buffet with upper glazed vitrine and lower sideboard, in Louis XV / Regency style in solid oak with veneered elements. This high-capacity piece stands out for the quality of its carvings, its curved display cases, and its beautiful warm oak patina.

Upper section (Vitrine / Display case):
Convex front with a broke pediment topped by a large gendarme’s hat with rocaille shell and carved volutes.
Two lateral glazed doors with curved glazing bars opening to storage shelves.
Central open niche fitted with two moulded wood shelves, ideal for displaying dishes or decorative objects.

Lower section (Enfilade):
Opens with four belt-like drawers decorated with rocaille bronze/brass finely chiseled handles and sculpted arabesques.
Four panelled solid doors, each topped with a carved rocaille shell motif.
Bronze lock entries with original key supplied.

Pedestal and Finishes:
Lower curving frame adorned with a central carved shell.
Rest on curvilinear legs (cabriole style) carved with acanthus on the corners.

Origin and Period:
Period: Second half of the 20th century (circa 1960–1980).
Probable origin: France or Belgium (traditional oak rustic chic craftsmanship).
