Monocular compound microscope - 8946 - 1910-1920 - Germany - Steindorff & Co., Berlin

Historical monocular microscope by Steindorff & Co., Berlin, serial number 8946, presumably early 20th century.

The microscope comes from the estate of a general practitioner. The wooden case, the available objectives and eyepieces, as well as the old permanent slides, were stored together with the microscope.

The extensive historical accessories include several Steindorff objectives, including a 1/12 oil-immersion objective, four eyepieces No. 2, 3, 4 and 5, as well as additional microscopic accessories, cover slips, and several old hand-labeled permanent preparations.

The basic mechanical and optical function has been tested. Rough and fine focusing as well as the objective turret are functioning. With eyepiece No. 2 and objective No. 3, one of the available permanent slides could be viewed and focused. The remaining objectives, including the 1/12 oil-immersion objective, were not optically tested.

The ensemble is in age-appropriate good condition with visible patina and signs of use. Condition, scope of delivery and available accessories are documented in detail in the photos.
