This handwoven kilim stands out for its long, narrow format and its especially vivid, graphic design. The base is held in warm coral to salmon-orange and is interrupted by regularly arranged, jagged geometric shapes.
The pattern consists of repeatedly repeated, horizontally staggered motifs in dark blue, teal, red, brown, beige, and orange. Because of their jagged edges, the shapes almost resemble interlocking blocks or stylized zigzag bands. The strong contrasts give the rug a modern, rhythmic effect.
At both ends, the central pattern is framed by horizontal stripes and a series of small triangular shapes. This gives the kilim, despite its striking color scheme, a clearly structured composition. The visible weave and the small irregularities emphasize the handmade character.
With dimensions of 292 × 82 cm, the kilim is especially suitable as a runner for hallways, entryways, or narrow living spaces.
