Description from the seller
Excellent Beomaster 1900, in rosewood. Very neat condition, fully checked, cleaned and newly serviced.
The Beomaster 1900 is one of the most iconic and commercially successful stereo receivers (FM radio and amplifier) ever produced by the Danish manufacturer Bang & Olufsen. Launched in 1976, its groundbreaking, ultra-slim design completely revolutionized the look and operation of hi-fi equipment.
The receiver won the prestigious Danish ID Award in 1976 and was selected for the permanent design collection at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York.
The receiver was designed by the legendary Danish industrial designer Jacob Jensen. At a time when the market was dominated by bulky, black-and-silver Japanese amplifiers covered in massive knobs and switches, the Beomaster 1900 stood out with a flat, wedge-shaped minimalist aesthetic.
Sensi-touch controls: It was one of the first consumer electronics products to utilize touch-sensitive capacitors for primary functions like power, source selection, and volume control.
Hidden secondary deck: Secondary adjustments such as bass, treble, balance, and FM preset tuning were hidden away under a sleek, hinged aluminum lid that opened with a gentle press.
