Sansosha/1982/Japanese/215*258*10
“Long Long Long Beach,” a photo book by Japanese photographer Kazuki Mitsuhashi. After graduating from Musashino Art University in 1964, he joined the Nippon Design Center—then considered the cream of the advertising industry, where many leading designers of the time were gathered. He subsequently worked as a designer at several companies before founding his own design studio in 1972; at the same time, he purchased photography equipment and began working as a photographer. The following year, in 1973, he published his first book, *Star Man*, through Shashin Hyoron-sha, led by Shinya Yoshimura—the publisher behind numerous masterpieces such as Daido Moriyama’s *Goodbye, Photography*. This book, published in the early 1980s, is his second volume—a unique collection featuring photographs taken on the Florida coast in the late 1970s, accompanied by a screenplay by screenwriter Shin’ichi Ichikawa. Looking back on the past, observing the present, and dreaming of the future... While stirred by a variety of emotions, this poetic volume focuses on people gazing out at the sea, using their backs as a lens through which to contemplate and narrate the diverse tapestry of human lives.
