AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

From our personal collection, or rather my late father’s collection, here is a beautiful and in size rare cartel clock from France, from our personal collection!! Approximately 45 cm high and 25 cm wide! Movement intact. Hand-painted with flowers, grasses, and dragonflies – very, very beautiful gilded decorative elements – porcelain bezel outside.
On the hinge axis inside the glass there is a chip about 1.5 cm long; you can see a thin black line in one photo as a reflection of the chip, which, however, is not visible when the clock is hanging.
Eugène Farcot worked in Paris, France, and founded his manufactory around 1870.
Place & time: Eugène Farcot worked in Paris, France, and founded his manufactory around 1870.
Special feature: He was one of the best-known French manufacturers of large clocks and the so‑called Mysterieuses (clocks with a “mysterious,” seemingly invisible mechanism). The anchor in the logo is a direct allusion to his inventions and patents in the area of special clock escapements.
Thank you
