Foth Folding Deluxe 6,5x11 Analogue camera

Here is an extraordinary, very elegant, and rare medium-format folding camera with horizontal aperture in a special edition: the Foth Rollfilm Folding Luxus (also known as Deluxe), produced in Germany by C.F. Foth & Co. in Berlin between the late 1920s and the early 1930s.

The lot is presented in good overall vintage condition, with normal signs of use and storage fully coherent with the object's age, and is complete with its native optical block mounted on an extendable rail.

Optics: The camera is equipped with its original Foth Doppel-Anastigmat 1:4.9 f=120mm lens, a very bright lens for the era, mounted on a proprietary mechanical central shutter by Foth. The lenses appear in good visual condition and maintain satisfactory overall clarity for a piece of this age.

Mechanical: The lot is mechanically functional. The central mechanical shutter responds to manual impulses via the lateral operating lever, firing regularly. The front panel releases correctly via the button and the side metal pantographs guide the unfolding of the brown bellows along the steel rails to the end stop, without impediment.

Esthetics: Good general vintage condition, as clearly documented by the photographs. The outer case preserves its dark brown leather covering with a textured relief pattern and impressed hot-stamped geometric motifs. The external metal profiles show normal signs of aging and tiny surface tarnishes from years of storage, while maintaining structural stability.
