The color of the metal is dark and richly patinated. It has a warm tone and rich in overtones, lively sound. Unique visible markings from the hammer. It is handmade; the irregularities in the rims are typical for handmade bowls and are to be expected.

The old Jambati bowls are often recognizable by many fine hammer marks, which over time with wear naturally can fade. The antique bowls are often hundreds of years old. Very rarely I find one with an inscription. The old bowls come in different variants, in terms of shape, color and hammerwork. It seems as if these bowls, through use and time, have gained an extra tonal dimension, just like good wine that in the right barrel matures with the passage of time.
