Original Bugatti Veyron 16.4 brake pads pair, front and rear set, Pagid HPC carbon‑ceramic, in excellent condition.
Description from the seller
A extremely rare collectible and high-replacement lot is proposed, consisting of two original brake pads for the Bugatti Veyron 16.4, designed for the braking system with carbon-ceramic composite discs.
The parts are in extraordinary, as-new condition, with logos and original codes perfectly sharp and legible. They show no signs of road wear or thermal stress. Sourced from Bugatti’s Molsheim warehouse stock. Genuine Bugatti items. Highly sought-after.
The lot comprises two pads.
One rear pad: OEM Bugatti part number 5B4.615.415.D, equipped with the iconic 3-lobed support plate, designed for installation in the rear AP Racing 6-piston caliper. Residual thickness certified by digital caliper: 16.5 mm. One of the two pads suitable for completing the rear braking system.
One front pad: OEM Bugatti part number 5B4.615.116.M, in a compact asymmetric version with directional rotation indicator. This is one of the four pads that form the massive 8-piston front braking system of the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 (with a total friction surface of 320 cm² each). Residual thickness certified by digital caliper: 16.2 mm.
Both in original Pagid HPC 114 GG (High Performance Carbon) compound, manufactured in Germany by Pagid, specifications for use on a system with carbon-ceramic discs. Bearing marks and stampings including the iconic official Bugatti logo with the EB mark referencing the founder Ettore Bugatti’s initials. Lot number: 22013 / 3173.
Considering that the standard thickness for new pads of this type (including the steel backing plate) is typically around 16–17 mm, the data certify that the pads are essentially like new with 100% of their usable material, which excludes any prior use other than possible test or factory mounting.
Two possible uses:
• Exclusive collection piece: an exceptional display set for Bugatti enthusiasts, ideal for showcasing in a glass case or a high-end garage to document the extraordinary engineering of the hypercar that broke the 400 km/h barrier;
• Technical use or sampling: structurally intact components with 100% of the usable friction material, ideal as benchmark samples or specialist spare parts.
At the time, the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 brakes represented the most powerful braking system in the automotive industry. The carbon-ceramic discs, with a diameter of 400 mm and a thickness of 38 mm on the front axle and 380 mm diameter and 36 mm thickness on the rear axle, were pioneering technology for the era in terms of material, size and structure, paving the way for further developments in the supercar sector. Thanks to the active rear wing, decelerations at high speeds well above 2G were achieved, corresponding, for example, to 320 km/h, to a braking power of 5,600 kW. The ESP is fully operational up to a maximum speed of around 385 km/h, reachable in handling mode, which was tested and released in extremely advanced and unprecedented field tests in September 2005 on the Black Rock salt lake in the American desert, under conditions of very low grip.
Below is a decoding of the codes present on the pads.
Rear pad:
• 5B4.615.415.D (Bugatti/Volkswagen OEM code): official replacement code. The 5B4 prefix identifies the brake system generation with carbon-ceramic discs (developed in collaboration with AP Racing), while the final suffix identifies the specific configuration of the rear axle plate.
PAGID HPC 114 GG (Mixture and Friction Coefficient):
• PAGID / HPC: identifies the manufacturer (TMD Friction group) and the proprietary High Performance Carbon (HPC) compound developed specifically for Bugatti carbon-ceramic discs;
• 114: code for the chemical formula of the compound;
• GG: standard international friction coefficient index (SAE J2975 / AMECA classification), where the double "G" confirms a very high and steady friction level both cold and at extreme temperatures (above 600°C);
• 978419 006: internal industrial traceability codes tied to the bill of materials and to the metal support plate stamping line;
• A20: technical specification code for the homologation market of the component;
• 22013 (Production Date / Lot): industrial stamping linking the piece to the latter part of the model’s lifecycle (production batch or day in the year 2013), guaranteeing its official line replacement nature.
Front pad:
• 5B4.615.116.M (Bugatti/Volkswagen OEM code): official Bugatti replacement code. The 5B4 prefix confirms belonging to the Carbon-Ceramic system, while the final letter M identifies the single asymmetric friction pad for the front 8-piston modular caliper.
• 978419 3173: industrial production identification code for the shaped support plate.
HPC114 GG A1S (Mixture and Homologation):
• HPC114 GG: the same high-performance carbon-ceramic mixture (High Performance Carbon) with friction coefficient "GG" mirrored to the rear axle to ensure perfectly balanced braking;
• A1S: traceability code for the finish variant or thermal coating of the anti-noise plate;
• Directional Arrow (➔): indicates the correct rotation direction of the brake disc when mounting in the caliper, essential for proper load discharge and to prevent noise;
• 22011 (Production Date / Lot): industrial stamping identifying the production batch of the front plate.
