Up for auction is an exceptional and monumental cabinet-sized specimen of Blue Aragonite with a botryoidal habit and a fibrous-radiating structure, originating from the historic Iglesias mining district (San Giovanni Mine, Sardinia). The piece is part of an old private collection and was mined several decades ago. The mineral presents a sky-blue/turquoise intense and velvety color, distributed on a splendid and typical dark limonite matrix (iron oxides), which certifies 100% the authenticity of the renowned Sardinian deposit. The original cavity (Cave of Aragonite) is sealed and rigorously protected for decades, making these antique samples impossible to obtain on-site and increasingly rare on the market.
