Exceptional specimen of amethyst on agate from Ametista do Sul, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.
This imposing piece of 57 kg features a remarkable crystallized amethyst cavity, naturally surrounded by a substantial agate and quartz structure.
The main face reveals a very large concentration of amethyst crystals, with hues ranging from light lilac to deeper violet. The crystals show numerous well-formed terminations and offer a strong brilliance under light.
One of the key interests of this specimen also lies in its surrounding edge. The polishing allows observation of the transition between the outer matrix, the different zones of agate and quartz, and then the crystallization of amethyst located at the heart of the piece.
