Vintage hand drill, (chignole, menarola..) a mid-20th-century work tool. Based on aesthetic features such as the large red gear wheel, the crank with the wooden knob, and the distinctive curved lower rest, we can attribute it to the famous German brand Metabo.
The spiral drill bit is inserted into the self-tightening chuck, and the operator places the curved plate against his chest or abdomen (often referred to precisely as a "Chest Drill") to apply the force needed to create the desired hole, turning the lateral crank by hand.

Trapano a mano vintage, (chignole, menarola..) strumento di lavoro di meta' secolo '900. In base alle caratteristiche estetiche come la grande ruota dentata di color rosso, la manovella con il pomello in legno ed il caratteristico poggiapetto inferiore sagomato curvo, possiamo attribuirlo al famoso marchio tedesco Metabo.
La punta elicoidale viene inserita nel mandrino autoserrante, l'utilizzatore poggia la piastra curva contro il proprio petto o pancia (spesso denominato appunto "Trapano a Petto") per applicare la forza necessaria a produrre il foro desiderato, girando manualmente la manovella laterale.
