Rated Excellent on Trustpilot.
A rare, fully original six‑piece brass balance weights set with a custom hardwood block, each weight carrying 20 official calibration marks (1926–1965) and including 5 oz, 2 oz, two 1 oz and 50 g weights.
Description from the seller
Rare and fully original 6-piece set of brass balance weights, professionally used by the General Trade in Iron and Copper Goods – Firma J.A.P.B. Zuurdeeg, established in 1877 in Rotterdam (Gedempte Botersloot 138).
The weights are housed in a custom-made hardwood block with a factory plate, which presents the set both decoratively and museally.
All weights bear official calibration stamps, varying from 1926 to 1965, confirming their professional provenance and historical authenticity.
Important detail: All weights are identically stamped with the same calibration marks and each weight has exactly 20 official stamps.
This makes the set exceptionally uniform, fully original and administratively particularly valuable.
The brass shows a warm, original patina that beautifully reflects the history of use and craftsmanship.
A special collector’s item for enthusiasts of historical measuring instruments, the history of science, and antique craftsmanship.
