Today I am going to present something truly special.
Part lighting feature, part sculpture, part work of art - the Terzani Atlantis chandelier is a veritable masterpiece of Barlas Baylar's modernist design and Italian craftsmanship.
Meticulously handmade, the Atlantis consists of a polished chrome frame gracefully draped with several miles of jewelry grade nickel chains. This stunning and unorthodox combination resembles the form of an aquatic organism gracefully floating in the ocean. To the touch it feels like submerging one's hand in water.
The effect is mesmerizing. One can find themselves gazing at the dazzling display of glints for several hours without noticing the passage of time.
This particular chandelier was ordered in 2017, but never came into use. It has only been taken out of its original crate once for the photos. It was never mounted or used, its only sign from the passage of time being minor oxidation from air moisture on some parts of the inner frame, which could be easily polished. The outward appearance is perfect.
Each of these works of art is made to order, the process taking about 3 months. The current bespoke price is 28 500 euro.
The chandelier is truly impressive with its dimensions:

A curious effect of its design is that the owner can alter the color of the chandelier with their lightbulbs of choice. If a cool white light is used the chandelier has a colder nickel shine, which is suitable for modern minimalist environment. If howewer a warmer yellow light is used the chandelier takes a warm golden appearance that goes well with the warmer Mediterranean or Boho styles.
Due to its massive size it is best suited for a large living room above a dinner table, in a high level piano bar or a hotel lobby.
