Peugeot - Coffee grinder - Wood, Metal - hand coffee grinder

This beautiful antique coffee grinder comes from the renowned French house Peugeot Frères, whose oval brass nameplate "PEUGEOT FRERES – MODELE DEPOSE – VALENTIGNEY (DOUBS)" with the classic lion emblem proudly adorns the front.

The grinder features a sturdy, square wooden housing in warm patinated walnut, with an overhanging top panel and a metal grinding mechanism with an elegantly curved, double cast-iron handle that ends in a wooden knob, crowned by a brass point atop the filling opening. At the bottom is the classic sliding drawer with a wooden knob, intended to catch the ground coffee.

The whole presents a beautiful, honest patina of use appropriate to its age, with natural wood discoloration and light signs of wear on the metal mechanism, without this compromising the functionality or appearance of the piece. A timeless example of French craftsmanship that remains charming both decoratively and functionally.
