Description from the seller

Tibetan/Bhutaneze Dolk (Dozum) with Silver-worked Sheath

A traditional Tibetan or Bhutanese dagger, 20th century. The piece consists of a straight, double-edged iron blade, a grip wrapped with fine wire, a silver (or silver alloy) pommel, and a richly decorated sheath.

The front of the sheath features extensive hand-engraved flora- and dragon-like motifs, characteristic of Himalayan metalwork. The sheath has a leather midsection and silver upper and lower fittings with repoussé work and fine edge finishing. The back shows less detailed finish with visible wear and soldering, in keeping with authentic use.

The blade shows age patina and surface oxidation. The pommel has a lattice-work design on the front and geometric engravings on the back.

Dimensions: overall length approximately 30–35 cm (in sheath), blade length approximately 18–20 cm (estimated from photos—exact measurement to be confirmed by the maker/owner).

Condition: Good, with signs of age appropriate to its age and use. See photos for detailed condition.

Origin: Dutch estate.
