Special silver issue of the VOC half-ducat from 1757. The regular type was minted in copper; this silver version belongs to the exceptional issues in a different metal and is very rare.

Obverse: large interwoven VOC monogram, above it a rosette between two points and below the year 1757.

Reverse: crowned shield of Holland with the rising Dutch lion.

Struck under Mint Master Otto Buck, with the rose as the mintmark. The coin features a characteristic cable edge, the diagonally arranged ribs around clearly visible.

The piece has a bright silver appearance with light natural toning. The VOC monogram and year are clearly defined, while on the reverse both the crown and the Dutch lion are well recognizable. The well-finished edge completes the presentation.

A very rare VOC silver issue, appealing due to the combination of the unusual metal, the small denomination, and the distinctive cable edge. A special piece for the dedicated collector of VOC and Dutch East Indies coinage.
