Description from the seller
Elegant service consisting of 8 liqueur glasses, silver-plated. Made from the historic collaboration between the renowned Distillerie Buton of Bologna (house founded in 1820) and the prestigious manufacture of Argenterie Comm. G. Galbiati of Milan.
Each piece consists of a cylindrical body in transparent removable glass, set into an elegant silver-plated glass holder.
The refined upper edge is relief-decorated with a band of phytomorphic and floral motifs finely detailed, finished with a beaded border.
The handle is prestigious, presenting a sculptural and sinuous form, finely chiseled in the likeness of a dragon or a mythical marine creature (Empire/revived Baroque style), an iconic element recurring in Galbiati’s historic promotional commissions produced for Buton liqueurs (such as Brandy Vecchia Romagna).
On the circular metal base plate is the original circular hallmarked inscription engraved which reads:
"DISTILLERIE BUTON - BOLOGNA - ITALIA - CASA FONDATA NEL 1820"
"ARGENTERIE GALBIATI - MILANO"
