Description from the seller
A splendid and refined pair of polychrome statuettes in finest Capodimonte porcelain.
The works depict a classic gallant scene of eighteenth-century and pastoral taste: a young girl presenting flowers to a spotted breed-hound and a young hunter/shepherd with a wide-brimmed hat and a basket. The figures rest on elegant circular porcelain bases with gilt edging, themselves mounted on sumptuous pedestals in gilded bronze finely worked in Rococo style with volute motifs.
Artist's signature: incised directly into the ceramic paste on the back of both sculptures. Manufacturing mark: blue letter "N" topped by a five-point crown with the overlying acronym "S.A.P." impressed on the back of the white porcelain.
Dimensions: Height approximately 30-35 cm (base included)
Conditions: Overall excellent aesthetic condition.
