Concise fragment with a Latin inscription «FABIANV[…]»
Important carved stone fragment of epigraphic character, rectangular in format and notable weight, with incised inscription in large capital letters.
On its front face the reading «FABIANV[…]» is clearly preserved, probably corresponding to the Latin name FABIANVS / Fabianus, the end of the inscription being affected by the fracture of the piece. The letters, deeply incised and of relatively regular execution, present an aesthetic of classical stonemasonry tradition.
The piece preserves a markedly eroded surface, with losses and wear compatible with prolonged exposure and architectural reuse. The sides and ends show ancient fractures, indicating that it likely formed part of a larger element, possibly a funerary, commemorative, or architectural inscription.
Due to its physical presence, size, and epigraphic character, it constitutes a piece of great decorative impact and special interest for collectors of archaeology, epigraphy, and classical antiquities.
Material: limestone or similar rocky material.
