Theatre binoculars - 1900-1910

For sale is a fascinating piece of history: an antique opera glass (theatre binoculars) from around 1900, offered as an honest and untouched attic find. Stylistically, the set can be attributed to late Historicism / the Belle Époque.

The set includes the original, precisely fitted hard-shell leather case with an interior lining. On the front there is a decorative original brass button. The case features an integrated spring mechanism: you must press the brass button to unlock the latch and open the case. This clasp still works today.
