Mid-Century Liquor Service (1950s) & Rare Monogrammed Bottle Attributable to S.A.L.I.R. Murano (1960s) - Glass/Crystal - Mint Condition
Exclusive vintage lot for bar/lounge consisting of two pieces of fine artisan craftsmanship, both in impeccable condition (MINT): no chips, pinches, cloudiness, or signs of wear, including bottle necks and stoppers.
1. Complete 1950s Liquor/Cordial Set
• Composition: 1 stout bottle (flattened tear-drop decanter) with original spherical stopper and 6 coordinated goblet-style glasses with short stems.
• Decoration: Refined white sandblasting on two sides depicting 18th-century gallant scenes (Lady and Knight). The other two sides feature a complex geometric diamond-cut with 16 dots incised in a wheel and frames of stylized floral branches. The decoration on the glasses masterfully synthesizes the theme with motifs of lines, dots, and pine needle shapes.
• Closure: Perfect airtight fit "glass on glass" thanks to the original neck and stopper grinding.
• Technical Data: Light, clear crystal glass. Bottle: H 21 cm (base Ø 6 cm, max width ~10.5 cm) - weight 269 g. Goblets: H 6.5 cm (Ø 4 cm) - weight 34 g each. Total set weight: 473 g.
2. Rare Collector’s Monogrammed Bottle - Murano Manufacture (Early 1960s)
• Provenance and History: Unique piece of Venetian glass art from a family inheritance. Made to order in Murano as a personalized gift with monogram "I C" (the grandmother’s name and surname, born and lived in Murano).
• Manufacture and Style: The geometric design combined with floral details, the depth of carving, and the typical barleycorn motifs make the piece strongly attributable to the prestigious engraving school of S.A.L.I.R. of Murano (Studio Ars Labor Industrie Riunite) or to Nason’s high-end production, historically active on the island in this type of personalized commissions in the early 60s.
• Technique and Decoration: Transparent Murano art glass, massive and very heavy. The front features the initials "I C" set within a rich frame of milled dots and barleycorn incisions, surrounded by vegetal bands and 4 flowers. The sides and back are entirely covered by a dense pattern of irregular diamonds (following the curvature of the glass), floral arches, and botanical details incised by wheel.
• Closure: Large stopper shaped like a miniature bottle (H 9 cm) with the original era rubber seal for a perfect hermetic seal.
• Technical Data: H 18 cm without stopper (24 cm with stopper). Width 15 cm. Rectangular base with rounded corners (8 x 6 cm). Notable weight: 764 g.
