Description from the seller

Original antique wardrobe trunk or luggage trunk from the interwar period, presumably dating from about 1920–1935.

This large upright travel trunk combines Swiss and American features: the brass lock plate bears the name Longmesser Basel, while a sticker references Hartmann Tourobe, a well-known manufacturer of luxury travel cases from the United States. It is possible that this is a Hartmann-sold suitcase with European hardware, or an imported piece that was later fitted with a dealer or travel label.

The trunk is finished in black-covered material with dark brown leather reinforcements, brass rivets, and original fastenings. On the front are the initials “H.A.M.” in gold-colored lettering, giving the piece extra character and authenticity.

The original handle with numbering is still present, as are the keys.

The interior is largely intact and laid out as a wardrobe trunk, intended to transport hanging clothes during train and sea journeys. Inside are original wooden clothes hangers, storage compartments, and securing straps.

The trunk shows beautiful authentic signs of use appropriate to its age and use, providing a decorative vintage appearance.

A particularly decorative and collectible object, suitable as an interior piece, storage trunk, theater or film prop, or for enthusiasts of antique travel items.

Carefully packed and sent by registered mail.
