Description from the seller

**Antique Longchamp "Terre de Fer" Majolica / Faience Amphora Vase, c. 1885–1905**

**Description:**
An exceptional and highly decorative French antique faience urn/amphora vase produced by the renowned Faïencerie de Longchamp. Dating back to the late 19th or very early 20th century (the celebrated Charbonnier brothers era), this imposing piece stands **40 cm tall** and showcases the pinnacle of French late historicism and early Art Nouveau craftsmanship.

The vase features an elegant baluster body resting on a pedestal foot, flanked by two scrolling handles that terminate in finely detailed molded mascarons (mythological faun/satyr heads). The crisp cream-colored ground is beautifully adorned with transfer-printed and hand-painted polychrome floral motifs, depicting tulips, forget-me-not sprays, and multi-petaled blossoms in vibrant yet sophisticated tones.

The underside bears the authentic impressed maker's mark in the paste: the semi-circular "**LONGCHAMP**" stamp above "**TERRE DE FER**", alongside incised shape numbers, guaranteeing its provenance and historical period.

**Specifications:**

* **Manufacturer:** Faïencerie de Longchamp (Burgundy, France)
* **Material:** Terre de Fer (high-strength ironstone/faience)
* **Period:** Circa 1885–1905 (Charbonnier Era)
* **Height:** 40 cm (15.75 inches)
* **Style:** French Historicism / Early Art Nouveau

**Condition Report:**
Excellent antique condition, highly suitable for collectors. This item is remarkably free of any cracks, chips, or restorations. It displays a beautiful, uniform, and stable fine age-related crazing (craquelure) under the glaze, which enhances its authentic antique character and confirms its genuine age.
