Mm. 354x249. 1 folder of loose sheets containing 7 folded sheets and 4 engravings. With 1 original etching on the copperplate by Walter Valentini, depicting the cover of the work, and 4 copperplate engravings numbered and signed by the artist, printed on hand presses by Giancarlo Sardella in Milan on Colombe paper 600 g from the Duchêne Moulins de Larroque mill. The text is set in Bembo movable type and printed by Officina Tipografica Olivieri in Milan on 190 g handmade paper with untrimmed edges, 100% natural cotton, neutral pH for timeless preservation by the Sicars paper mill in Catania. The relief of the frontispiece is by Cesare Spini in Milan. Folder with loose sheets contained in a transparent plexiglass case with guillotine closure and intermediate boards with an artistic work created by Enzo Castagnari in Recanati. Also present is the original cardboard protective case.

The work was conceived and realized between 1997 and 1998, introduced by Cesare Barbieri and curated by Alessandro Sartori, which accompanies some writings of the mathematical astronomer to the artist Walter Valentini’s work. Excellent copy, untouched (small and insignificant chip in the lower part of the plexiglass case).

Walter Valentini (Pergola, October 22, 1928 – Milan, May 20, 2022) was an Italian painter, sculptor, and etcher, internationally recognized in the field of graphics and engraving.
Valentini created limited-edition volumes of high artistic value on superb handmade paper. The texts are composed using the typographic method “monotype” (types designed specifically for the book and then cast in type metal). The pages, hand-bound, are accompanied by etchings.
Valentini won numerous awards and participated in: 1st Biennial of Contemporary Italian Engraving in Venice in 1955; International Biennial of Ibiza and Listowel; International Biennial of Kraków 1984; International Biennial of Ljubljana in 1984 and 1989; the “XLVII” Venice Biennale; Rome Quadrennial in 1999.
