A Paris-made silver paten by Jean Charles Cahier (circa 1820), 950 silver, weight 101.1 g, dimensions 1 x 14.8 cm, with a gilt one side and an engraved cartouche on the other bearing IHS and a heart pierced by three arrows; condition good with light signs of wear.
Description from the seller
Description: A fine paten, one side gilded and the other side with an engraved cartouche. In the cartouche the initials IHS with a cross are inscribed, the first three letters of the name Jesus in Greek capitals (ΙΗΣΟΥΣ). Below is a heart depicted, pierced by three arrows, as a symbol of the immense divine love and mercy of Christ for humanity and as a reference to the Passion.
Made around 1820 by the Parisian silversmith Jean Charles Cahier.

Description: A fine paten, one side gilded and the other side with an engraved cartouche.
