Description from the seller

Rainbow Sandstone Slab – Natural Landscape Pattern – Arizona, USA

A highly decorative natural sandstone slab from Arizona, USA, displaying an exceptional sequence of flowing bands in warm terracotta, burnt orange, beige, cream and deep brown tones.
The specimen is particularly striking for its natural landscape-like pattern. Broad curved layers sweep across the surface and converge toward the centre, creating shapes reminiscent of desert valleys, rolling dunes and distant rock formations. The darker mineral-rich lines define the boundaries between the different sedimentary layers and give the composition remarkable depth.
Both sides reveal a different arrangement of the same natural stratification, making the slab visually interesting from multiple angles. On one face, the pattern forms a dramatic central composition with rounded, wave-like structures, while the reverse shows broader flowing bands and a more open arrangement of the lighter sandstone.
The surface has been cut and finished to emphasize the natural colour transitions and sedimentary textures while retaining the organic outline of the stone. Fine variations in grain, tone and band thickness are clearly visible throughout the specimen.
These patterns were created naturally through successive layers of sediment deposition, compaction and mineral staining over geological time. Iron-rich minerals are responsible for much of the warm orange, red and brown coloration.
The transparent acrylic display stand shown in the photographs is included.
A distinctive natural sandstone specimen, appreciated for its scenic patterning, warm desert palette and strong resemblance to a miniature geological landscape.
